GROUNDNUT CHUTNEY / PALLILA CHUTNEY


GROUNDNUT CHUTNEY... Today i am sharing with you one of my favorite recipe.. This is a very good substitute to coconut chutney. Generally we usually have heavy breakfasts in the morning like idly, dosa, upma etc... Usually we have these with coconut chutney.. But this chutney is also a very good combination for these items.. Very simple,easy and quick to prepare with a few ingredients... Groundnuts are very rich in nutrients... Healthy for kids also.. So prepare this and enjoy...



Preparation & Cooking time : 25 mins
Serves 3

INGREDIENTS 
1 1/2 cup Groundnuts / pallilu, dry roasted
3 tomatoes, diced into cubes
4 greenchillies, cut into slits
1 sprig curryleaves
2-3 garlic pods (optional)
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp urad dal / minapappu
1 tsp mustard seeds / aavalu
1/4 tsp hing
salt as per taste

PREPARATION
  • Take a pan and dry roast the groundnuts on medium heat and keep aside.
  • In that pan add oil and once the oil is heat add the ingredients one by one... urad dal, mustard seeds, hing, curryleaves, garlic pods, tomatoes n greenchillies. Let them cook completely. Let it cool.
COOKING METHOD 
  • Take a mixie jar, add the roasted groundnuts, tomato mixture, salt.
  • Grind into fine paste by adding desired quantity of water little by little.
  • Transfer into serving bowl and serve as side dish for idly,dosa, upma n pongal.
