PULIHORA.. yummm.. one of my favorite dish which makes my mouth water. I prepare different varieties of pulihora during festivals.....
Today i am sharing with you RICE RAVVA PULIHORA with lemon. Very simple,easy to prepare and does not take more time. Tangyness of lemon juice and the seasoning gives nice flavor to the dish... Try this recipe if u want to prepare in different style instead of using rice...
Preparation time : 10-15 min
Cooking time : 10 min
Serves 2-3
INGREDIENTS
1 cup rice ravva/biyyam ravva
2 tbsp oil
salt as per taste
1/4 tsp haldi/turmeric powder
2 cups water
Juice of 3 lemons, u can increase or decrease as per your taste
FOR THE TEMPERING/POPU
5-6 greenchillies, slit
5 red chillies, broken into 1 inch pieces
1/2 cup groundnuts
2 sprigs curryleaves
1 tsp chanadal/senagapappu
1 tsp urad dal/ minapappu
1 tsp mustard seeds/aavaalu
1/4 tsp hing
3 tbsp oil
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- Take a pressure cooker and add 2 cups water, let it boil. When the water is boiling add oil, salt and turmeric powder and mix. Add the rice ravva and mix. Close the lid and pressure cook for 3 whistles on medium heat.
- Once the pressure is gone remove the lid and transfer into a wide bowl and spread it. Keep aside.
- Take a pan and add oil. When the oil is hot add the groundnuts and let them fry. Then add the rest of the ingredients and let it fry on medium heat. A nice aroma will come.
- Once done add this to the rice ravva mixture and mix well.
- Then add lemon juice and mix well.
- Adjust salt and lemon juice according to your taste and allow it to rest for 1 hour.
- Serve at room temperature.
U can have this for braekfast or lunch, as your wish. I like to have this as breakfast. U can add more chillies if u want to make it spicy..
