SPINACH / PALAK CHAPATI

SPINACH / PALAK CHAPATHI... This is one of my favorite dish. Usually i prepare this for lunch or dinner. I love the green colour of this dish which is super delicious and tasty. As u know spinach is a very healthy leafy vegetable which is very rich in vitamins and minerals. I prepare different recipes using spinach. Today i am sharing with you simple, easy n tasty chapathi.. Those who get bored of eating regular chapathi can try this... Best recipe for kids too.. Kids who don't like spinach may like this because of the color. Best way to trick them and make them to eat.

 Preparation time : 30 min
Cooking time : 5 mins
Yields 4-5 chapati

INGREDIENTS

1 cup palak - onion puree
2 cups wheat flour / godhumapindi
1 tbsp greenchilli-ginger-garlic paste
salt as per taste
water as required
oil for cooking

METHOD OF PREPARATION
  • First boil the palak leaves, strain them and let it cool. Once cooled grind along with onion into a fine paste.
  • Take a mixing bowl and add wheat flour, greenchilli-ginger-garlic paste, salt, 1 spoon oil and mix.
  • Then add the palak- onion puree little by little and make into a smooth dough. Water is not necessary as paste contains water. But u can add if the dough is too hard as per required.
  • Allow it to rest for 10 min.
  • Then take a big lemon sized ball from the dough and make it a round ball in between your hands and flat them. Roll out into chapati with little wheat flour for dusting.
  • Heat a tawa pan or griddle. Place the chapathi and let it cook on both sides until it puffs on medium heat. Add oil on both sides and let it cook for another 1 min in medium heat.
  • Serve hot with curd or any curry of your choice.
